I’ll never forget the first time I learned life is earned, never given.

It was a grueling thirteen weeks, where I discovered that the only way I could find out what I had, was to push myself beyond the brink of exhaustion. Because in this place, I found will power, courage and strength.

The eagle, globe, and anchor are earned, never given, and it is a concept that can be applied to all aspects of life.

I think many of us give up during the first signs of resistance.

We adapt to a life we never want to live and end up in unhappy relationships, careers we despise, and turn towards addictions to hide.

It’s an attempt to solve the very things we are running from and to feel validated. To place our self-worth on others and materialistic things. We end up walking through life like mindless zombies on autopilot and forget that life is a privilege.

The very idea that we can be happy with achieving status or individual goals is the very reason why I hit rock bottom. I also think it is the very reason why many of us struggle in life.

For those of us willing to go against the grain of life, it is not an easy path to acceptance.

Here, we will face our demons, battle our biggest fears, and go against everything we’ve even been taught or told to do. But, that’s the beauty of life, it is filled with obstacles, and only those with a true fighting spirit will begin to see that life is a privilege, and anything worth having in life is earned, never given.

We are all unique, and when we can take full responsibility for our lives and see the way the world has put us in boxes, we can change our stories.

It’s time to step into the life that is waiting, but only if we realize life is a privilege, nothing is given,
